If you are looking for an anime with a Youkai theme, but that contains a touch of romance and/or nostalgia and perhaps a little introspection, here I show you my little Top 4 Youkai Anime.
4. Inu x Boku SS (妖狐×僕SS) 2012
This anime captivated me because of the charisma of each of its characters, it is not a very deep story, nor are there battles that take your breath away, but the mystery that surrounds the protagonists and without a doubt a bit of fan-service, comedy and The great ending that this anime has will make you enjoy it.
3. Otome Youkai Zakuro(おとめ妖怪ざくろ) 2010
Based on the manga of the same title, Otome Youkai Zakuro is a series that introduces us to four girls who will be chosen as the representatives of the Youkai when Japan was opening its borders to the West. A story that shows us the difficulty faced when two worlds try to coexist and become one.
2. Hotarubi no Mori e(蛍火の杜へ)2011
One of my favorite series without a doubt, both series are based on the manga by Yuki Midorikawa, both stories involve the theme of spirits, while Hotarubi no Mori e will show us the interaction between the protagonists until a love story develops, Natsume no Yuujinchou will project Natsume’s evolution and his point of view towards the spirits and people who, like him, are capable of feeling his presence; accompanied by Nyanko-sensei, a spirit who made a pact with him to take over the “Book of Friends” the day Natsume died.
1. Kamisama Hajimemashita(神様はじめました)2012
Julietta Suzuki is the author of this manga. Kamisama Hajimemashita is my favorite Youkai anime par excellence, not only for its Shoujo theme, but also for its beautiful story, character design, and soundtrack. This story will take us through the challenges and adventures that Nanami must overcome in order to become a God capable of protecting the temple that the God Mikage has entrusted to him. With this, he will not only be able to establish unbreakable friendships, but also give everything to Protect your special someone.
Each of these series holds a special affection in my heart. Some show us the strength of friendship and sincerity of heart and how people’s cold hearts can change; Others teach us the pain and melancholy of enduring a destiny that cannot be changed and seeing the people we love leave.
